Posted by: | Comments
MTG256 The Hidden Qigong Means of Each Baguazhang Posture: Vol. 1 Each of the major postures from Bagua have a hidden meaning, either for the healing benefits or for gaining of power for the fa-jing and fighting system. And the hidden meanings are hidden in the very names of each posture. This information was only ever given out to very advanced students after they became proficient in the fighting side of the art as when once was proficient in self defence, one could then understand about the healing and Qigong side. By knowing the names of each posture, we are able to find the hidden way to perform each posture as well as to find the hidden healing meaning or Qigong to gain power etc. For instance, the posture called ‘Leaning On the Horse & Ask The Way’ works upon the energy system of the body which is stored in the backbone. The 1st Two Palm Changes are covered in this volume.

The Shaolin Bagua Palm Set
Posted by: | Comments
The full name of this set is “The Shaolin Traveling Dragon Bagua Palm Form”. It is a traditional Shaolin Kung Fu set, and is unrelated to the martial art called Bagua Zhang (Pakua Chang). There are, nevertheless, similarities, like the emphasis on palm strikes, and the use of flowing, powerful movements that resemble a Dragon. This Shaolin Bagua Form is relatively unknown. This is logical because it is was a secret set. When the southern Shaolin Temple was burned in the 19th century, a monk named Jiang Nan escaped and fled south towards Thailand and Malaysia. Jiang Nan taught this set to Yang Fatt Khun, who taught it to Ho Fatt Nam, who taught it to Wong Kiew Kit, who taught it to me (Anthony Korahais). The combat applications of this set are fantastic. My teacher treasures this set because it opened for him the wonders of Shaolin Combat application. I hope you enjoy. Anthony Korahais www.FlowingZen.com —

This set is also known as the root form as the spiral energy generated from the set is used for internal alignment and power. All movements originate at the waist which make the foot work fluid and powerful at the same time. Each movement can be done as a repetitive sequence and/or push hand drill. This is one of the core forms that I practice and teach.

MTG237: Baguazhang Deer Horn Knives. Volume One: Covers the first two Changes. Probably the most deadly and useful short weapons ever invented. With five cutting edges, and four points, you can use this weapon against any long metal or wooden weapon such as broadsword, sword, spear etc. The form is excellent for health as it gives your whole body a great workout along with toning up your Kidney Jing (life-force). Every conceivable strike, block and attack is covered using the multi faceted weapon. It will be produced definitely early in 2003. It is often called “Double Moon Knives” or “Mandarin Duck Knives” or “Elk Horn Knives”. The form is performed around the circumference (for the most part) of a circle as for the Bagua circular form and it comes in 8 sections as well. Many of the posture names are the same as in the circular empty hand form, however, this weapon form is very much different and not just using a weapon with the Bagua form etc. Every organ in your body is toned up especially the heart and lungs, liver and kidneys. The wrists become particularly powerful and your flexibility is also improved. NB:// VOL. 1 contains a complete demonstration done at full speed.
