His Holiness the Dalai Lama honoured with a special Blessing Ceremony the preview of the Encyclopedia of Hinduism in Rishikesh, India, 3-4 of April 2010 with the participacion of many revered saints and dignitaries of public life. This whole project is directed by Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji, the spiritual leader of the Parmarth Niketan Ashram. Petra Klein selected the important highlights of this 2-day-long interreligious encounter. The Encyclopedia with its 11 volumes is not only important for Hindus but for the rest of the world. India with his innative wisdom has a responsability to share their knowledge with all human beings. The old science of Yoga for body, mind and spirit helps to harmonize people and to find our true inner self. The Dalai Lama talks about the importance of India for the world, about ecology and a balanced and mindful way of live. His blessing ceremony is accompanied by music, chanting and specific rituals.

A Foreign Ministry spokesman said China preferred to ignore the Dalai Lama’s birthday and instead remember two dates in modern Tibetan history: those of Tibet’s “peaceful liberation” and Serf Emancipation Day.
