Terence McKenna on Prozac (Fluoxetine)
Posted by: | Comments
A clip of Terence McKenna giving his opinion on the SSRI anti-depressant Prozac (Fluoxetine). INTELLIGENCE DECREASED BY ANTIDEPRESSANTS: Schmitt et al. (2001) suggested that the SSRI antidepressant Paroxetine (Paxil) negatively affects cognition (ie, IQ). In their study, healthy participants given Paroxetine (Paxil) for 14 days (20 mg for days 17 and 40 mg days 814) showed poorer recall of words on day 14 compared to those receiving a placebo. Source: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov Does Prozac cause neurogenesis? “A previous study showed that the antidepressant fluoxetine (Prozac) also increases new cell growth, and the results indicated that it was this cell growth that caused Prozac’s anti-anxiety effect. Zhang wondered whether this was also the case for the cannabinoid, and so he tested the rats for behavioural changes.” Sources: www.newscientist.com www.jci.org

Terence Mckenna discovers DMT and the world of elves and fairies
Posted by: | Comments
Terence Mckenna desribes the first time he used DMT and the discovery of elves and fairies. There is no explanation why countless people have the same hallucination under high doses of tryptamines. With elves more common then fairies, these entities will rummage through your surroundings with mischief, but will not speak to you. It is yet more unexplained as to why two people can see the same entity at once.

www.TransAlchemy.com – Terence McKenna and Lorenzo discuss artificial intelligence Edited frrom 229-Trialogue: “The Evolutionary Mind” Part 2 (Posted: Wed, 19 May 2010 21:02:36 GMT) “This is a continuation of the last Trialogue that was held between Rupert Sheldrake, Ralph Abraham, and Terence McKenna. This session is kicked off by Terence McKenna who shifts the focus to The Evolutionary Mind AND the Machines. A couple of his comments include: “What is important about nature is that it is information. And the real tension is not between matter and spirit, or time and space, the real tension is between information and nonsense.” And, “Vast amounts of the world that we call human is already under the control of artificial intelligences, including very vital parts of our political and social dynamo.” Then Ralph and Rupert try to pin him down on a few inconsistencies. Following the trialogue I have added a short comment by Bruce Damer regarding the technical impossibility of uploading one’s consciousness to a computer any time in the foreseeable future.” feedproxy.google.com www.matrixmasters.com Includes music by Sheep on Drugs.

Terence Kemp McKenna (November 16, 1946 — April 3, 2000) was an American author, public speaker, metaphysician, psychonaut, philosopher, ethnobotanist, art historian, and self-described anarchist, anti-materialist, environmentalist, feminist, Platonist and skeptic.[1] During his lifetime he was noted for his knowledge of psychedelics, metaphysics, plant-based entheogens, shamanism, mysticism, Hermeticism, Neoplatonism, biology, geology, physics, phenomenology, and his concept of novelty theory. Terence McKenna advocated the exploration of altered states of mind via the ingestion of naturally occurring psychedelic substances. For example, and in particular, as facilitated by the ingestion of high doses of psychedelic mushrooms, and DMT, which he believed was the apotheosis of the psychedelic experience. He spoke of the “jeweled, self-dribbling basketballs” or “self-transforming machine elves” that one encounters in that state. Although he avoided giving his allegiance to any one interpretation (part of his rejection of monotheism), he was open to the idea of psychedelics as being “trans-dimensional travel”; literally, enabling an individual to encounter what could be aliens, ancestors, or spirits of earth.[8] He remained opposed to most forms of organized religion or guru-based forms of spiritual awakening. Philosophically and religiously, he expressed admiration for Marshall McLuhan, Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, Gnostic Christianity, Alfred North Whitehead, Alchemy, and …
